讀容天圻[繪畫之雅俗]想琴之雅俗

近日讀容天圻[繪畫之雅俗]覺 琴 與 繪畫 有著相同的中國精神文明.

"中國繪畫的表現, 不僅僅是畫面的形似與技巧的工拙, 其最高的表現乃是筆墨所流露出來的靈性, 以及沖和, 靜穆, 淡雅的氣氛與精神... 而其評畫的標準則在於[雅]與[俗]之別... 俗不去, 雅不來"



俗, vulgarity.
雅, refined, elegance.

清代的沈宗騫之[芥舟學畫編] 分雅為五種: 
一, 高雅: 古淡天真, 不著一點色相者之謂
二, 曲雅: 佈局有法, 行筆有本, 變化之至而不離乎矩矱者   (矱: 尺度)
三, 雋雅: 平原疏木, 遠岫寒沙, 隱隱遙岑, 盈盈秋水, 筆墨無多, 愈玩之而愈無窮者. (岫:山有穴)
四, 和雅: 神恬氣靜, 令人頓消其躁妄之氣者
五, 大雅: 能集前古各家之長, 而自成一種風度且不失名貴卷軸之氣者.

如何能將琴彈至雅而不俗 -- 讀書, 臨摹, 瞭解氣韻, 瞭解古人何為燥何為平庸, 何為"欲出奇以駭俗, 故作狂惑"是屬指俗.


Chinese ink painting and the guqin music are parts of Chinese spiritual civilization.

A good Chinese ink painting and a good qin playing shares the same idea of refined and elegant qualities. 

How to reach the level of refined quality? -- Study ancient master's playing; read related books to know related knowledge; imitate master's playing; understanding how rhythm flows; understanding what is dull and uninteresting, and what is to avoid acting too much to attract vulgarity.

3/3/2015-3/16/2015 京都之行著實讓我對中國文人的氣息有越來越跟我的觀感連上線.  雖說自己家族也是有文人, 書畫家的出現, 但在過去四十幾年的生活中. 我似乎並沒有真正對他們所追求的生活形態有任何特別的感受或嚮往. 然而就在此京都之行過後, 我竟然感受到了. 感受到什麼是中國文人所追求的"雅" .

From 3/3/2015 to 3/16/2015, the trip to Kyoto really helped my perception of understanding ancient Chinese scholar's life style and what is the "elegant quality" pursued by Chinese literati. Although in my family, there is, and were scholars.  But in the last forty years of my life, I did not really feel connected with their life style or feeling admired about it, until now.

宋代郭熙在其[林泉高致集] 中曾提到: "君子之所以愛夫山水者, 其旨安在? 丘園養素, 所常處也; 泉石嘯傲, 所常樂也; 漁憔隱逸, 所常適也; 猿鶴飛鳴, 所常親也; 塵囂韁鎖, 此人情之所常厭也; 煙霞仙聖, 此人情所常願而不得見也.... 白駒之詩, 紫芝之詠. 皆不得已而長往者也, 然則林泉之志, 煙霞之侶, 夢寐在焉, 耳目斷絕. 今得妙手, 鬱然出之, 不下堂筵, 坐窮泉壑, 猿聲鳥啼, 依約在耳, 山光水色, 滉漾奪目, 此豈不快人意, 實獲我心哉, 此世之所以貴夫畫山水之本意也. "

古代文人響往的煙霞仙聖因不得常見只好藉諸詩, 書,琴, 畫來移情. 

Ancient Chinese literati liked to convey their ideal life image (dwelling in mountain, or fields that is peaceful, quiet and no pressure. Listening nature sound such as spring water, flying birds and being closer to nature life) through poetry, painting, and the qin music as well. 













可惜這樣的雅性情操早就漸漸隨時代變遷, 物質利欲, 工業污染等等消失怠盡. 許多新一代的人彈琴所追求的似乎越來越朝向名與利, 大聲, 大型演奏, 花俏,... 無論如何,  如果我還能從自我或其他琴人的古琴彈奏的情感當中悟出什麼, 我想那就是找到了正在消失中的琴藝中的"古淡天真, 神恬氣靜"的"雅"的感覺. 

Unfortunately, the elegant quality has been gradually disappear from time to time, within new generation of the qin players. Because the desires for fame and fortune, the pollution from industrial world, qin playing is more and more aim for loud, large-scaled and fancy performances... 

If I can feel touched from my own qin playing or other qin players qin playing, then I think I found the disappearing elegant quality.

訪台北琴道館 Visiting the Taipei Qin Dao Hall

三日無琴
手生荊棘
心生思情
琴道館
一茶飲
撫清明
寥慰幽幽

Three days without touching a qin
Caused my hands growing thorns 
My heart longings
Step in the Qin Dao Hall
Sipped cups of tea
Played the silks of Qing Ming 
Silently my heart is comforted





琴就是你自己
或著我可以這麼說嗎?
琴是我想要卻很難做到的自己 
(因為生活上的種種因素讓我們戴上面具或擋上盾牌)
是我很難讓人瞭解的深藏的自己
無法用言語表達
只有琴能幫助並讓我感受到

"Qin is yourself"
Or may I say that Qin is the part of me that I am hardly can be. 
(Because we have to deal with daily life challenge, that makes us putting on a mask or a shield)
The part of me that is hidden and hardly can be explained.
Therefore only the qin can help to let me know who I really am and let me be my true self.
